Not a food post

For those who know me or have read a few of my past posts you’ll know my other passion other than food is running; remember Post Running Wine and Food! and Half Marathon Food & Drink? I am a keen runner and this year I am running a series of races for charity. Well my final race is looming so I thought I’d take the opportunity to write about my Keep On Running Fundraising, the charities I am running for and why they are important to me.

Throughout 2012 I have taken part in a number of races; with the support of Alison Stone, running some distances we have never attempted before (from 10k to half marathons). This is a big challenge and a good opportunity to collect money for 2 charities, Bliss for babies born too soon, too small, too sick and North Devon Hospital Chemotherapy Appeal.

I have chosen Bliss, as without the Neonatal Special Care Baby Unit in Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital I may not have my beautiful twin nieces today. This has inspired me to help an organisation who can help other families and special care babies.I am also proud to be running in memory of baby Daniel George Wilford.
I have chosen North Devon Hospital Chemotherapy Appeal, as cancer is something that has affected many people close to me, both family and friends. Having wider facilities available at North Devon Hospital would make the treatment for suffers, their family and friends so much easier.
