Fish curry

Fab Recipes

Fish curry isn’t a typical meal for us but over the Bank Holiday weekend that was exactly what I was craving. So out came the recipe books to find something I could cook in the ‘not much time’ I had.

It was Deeelicious, so here is the easy but tasty Balti Fish Curry recipe, you will need:

  • 500g of white fish (I used Haddock) cut into pieces
  • 1 tsp fresh root ginger
  • 1 tbsp of fresh garlic
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp red chilli powder (more to taste!)
  • 1 tbsp ground coriander
  • 3 tbsp natural yogurt

And the cooking part:

  1. Stir fry the ginger and garlic in a little oil until they change colour, then add the rest of the spices and fry on a low heat for 5 minutes
  2. Add the yogurt and stir well, cook on a low heat until the oil separates out, (add water if the mixture starts to stick)
  3. Add the fish pieces and cook in a medium heat until cooked, about 7-10 minutes
  4. And serve…

Fish Curry

Served with fried chorizo and onion rice.

And I’m guessing this recipe will work just as well with meat or vegetable, I’ll let you know when I try it.
