Fish curry isn’t a typical meal for us but over the Bank Holiday weekend that was exactly what I was craving. So out came the recipe books to find something I could cook in the ‘not much time’ I had.
It was Deeelicious, so here is the easy but tasty Balti Fish Curry recipe, you will need:
- 500g of white fish (I used Haddock) cut into pieces
- 1 tsp fresh root ginger
- 1 tbsp of fresh garlic
- ½ tsp turmeric
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp red chilli powder (more to taste!)
- 1 tbsp ground coriander
- 3 tbsp natural yogurt
And the cooking part:
- Stir fry the ginger and garlic in a little oil until they change colour, then add the rest of the spices and fry on a low heat for 5 minutes
- Add the yogurt and stir well, cook on a low heat until the oil separates out, (add water if the mixture starts to stick)
- Add the fish pieces and cook in a medium heat until cooked, about 7-10 minutes
- And serve…
Served with fried chorizo and onion rice.
And I’m guessing this recipe will work just as well with meat or vegetable, I’ll let you know when I try it.
