Our breakfast treat consisted of:
- Duck sausages – this was the first I’d heard of these, they were very meaty and completely different to normal sausages. 2 were plenty though anymore could have be overkill
- Local farm eggs – fried and fresh from the farm, you can tell as the yolk was so yellow
- Laver – seaweed found on the West coast of Britain, which had been lovingly prepared, rinsed then simmered in a 1 part water to 3 part vinegar until it’s really soft. You either love it or hate – I LOVE IT!
- Outdoor reared dry cured bacon – you know it is good bacon when it doesn’t shrink to half it’s size or sweat loads of water, usually more expensive from supermarkets but so worth it
- Grilled tomato and baked beans
So our night out with friends may not have been food happy but the morning breakfast certainly was.
Thanks Betsy and the team!
